this hotel provided us with excellent comfort and you started to relax as soon as we drove up the entrance. the atmosphere in the small cosy bar added to the feeling of complete relaxation and the food in the restaurant was excellent.

Woodhill House was a relaxing authentic luxury bed and breakfast. The friendliness of the staff was amazing, and they could not do enough for us. The rooms were nice and clean, but ours opened onto a lovely garden which you could walk around. We loved the quaint small bar in the main living room where the pints were good and the atmosphere better. It made it easy to meet other guest who were staying. The breakfast was lovely.

    Fabulous

It is a historic house full of character. Each bedroom has a different decor and many with beautiful views over the walled garden and the mountains. There is a separate annex called the garden rooms which are very spacious with a small balcony overlooking the garden and mountains. Beautiful modern bathroom, tv, hairdryer, tea/coffee facilities and small fridge which was very useful. Amazingly king size comfortable beds. The location is central for touring west Donegal with wonderful beaches and scenery. Woodhill House is licensed and the menu in the evening is a 3 course set meal which is of a high standard but not everyone wants 3 courses and while they have a 2 course menu it must be taken before 6.30pm. My only disappointment was breakfast as they only served white bread when in Ireland we expect wheaten, potato and/or brown etc. but the bacon was excellent...... Overall I would go back to Woodhill House for another visit - they are very friendly people with a lovely home,

loved the old original feel of this country manor type house. full of family memorabilia and lots of character. lovely designed garden, if weather good! food was excellent and rooms in annexe conversion were large, comfy and had private balcony that you could sit out in overlooking garden. would love to stay in original house next time but only 4 or 5 bedrooms there.

Labai savotiskas viesbutis, is isores siek tiek aptriuses, bet kambariai labai dideli, jaukus, gerai irengti. Sukuriama senoviska atmosfera. Musu kambarys buvo su vaizdu i senoviska soda. Iejus i pagrindini viesbucio pastata pasitiko du juodi draugiski labradorai :) Mielai apsistosim vel.

John showed us to our garden room which overlooked some of the beautiful gardens and surrounding countryside and had table and chairs outside the patio doors to enjoy the view. There were other tables and chairs dotted in various places around the garden to sit and relax too. Very large room with comfy bed and tea and coffee. We chose to dine at the hotel and while enjoying a drink in the bar listening to the piano being played by an extremely talented young lad we browsed the menu. The house was warm, inviting and we were surrounded by interesting photos and pictures. The meal was excellent, high quality local produce and such a cosy, lovely atmosphere. After the meal we were served our coffees in the bar where we continued to enjoy the piano being played. After a good night sleep we were back in the house enjoying a freshly prepared breakfast. All too soon it was time to leave, but will definitely return. Many thanks to John and family and friends for helping to make it a very memorable stay.

Lovely, quiet place. The family who runs it is extremely kind and helpful. James makes a fantastic Irish coffee!

Very welcoming staff and atmosphere, the hotel was quiet and had character that only an older building could have. It was obviously family run with a high level of personal attention but without being overbearing. The food was excellent, with an interesting menu, served by staff who were attentive and willing to try to accomodate personal preferences. Our room was spacious, clean and well presented.

The heating in the room was somewhat overpowering for our tastes, and we had to put the radiator off and open the patio doors to get a comfortable temperature for sleeping. The shower in the room was quite poor, with great fluctuations in temperature, and a water flow that was inadequate for rinsing off soap after washing.

    Superb

The house is lovely; the coach house where we stayed was luxurious with beautiful views to the mountains. Nice balcony and a marvelous garden. Also truly great breakfast as part of the daily hotel rate provided. They have a really excellent restaurant where we enjoyed a wonderful 3 course dinner. The price was fine. Not much of a wine selection though and they ran out of most of the dessert selection by 10pm, which was disappointing. This is a family run business and very friendly, though we thought the man who owned it was slightly mad!

Staff were nice but not very well trained and the choice of wine was limited to go with excellent French cuisine. While advertised as having wifi throughout te hotel, this was untrue as it was only available in the bar area where the router was, this was annoying.
